A few years back, my partner and I, both comfortably navigating the "wisdom years" (where a good stretch is a daily challenge), decided to take a swing at disc golf. We were on the hunt for that perfect trio: staying active, bonding over shared experiences, and finally unleashing our inner champions without causing any actual property damage.
The moment we felt the pure thrill of a long, slow turnover or a long flexing drive (accidentally) weaving through trees, we were utterly, completely hooked. Backhands, mind you; our forehands are still in witness protection, nearly nobody knows their true identity.
Our newfound passion quickly transformed us into enthusiastic disc golf nomads. We've traversed Australia, seeking out the most captivating courses. From our Melbourne base, we've ventured through Tasmania, central Victoria, the ACT, and Mt. Gambier. Adelaide's next on our itinerary, and by year's end, we're setting our sights on Western Australia and Queensland. Our camper setup is certainly getting a workout – the odometer is looking suspiciously well-traveled!
Naturally, with every new adventure came the irresistible lure of... more discs! Our collection has since blossomed to well over 100. Yes, One hundred! Let's just call it a "very healthy obsession," or perhaps a well-rounded and deeply committed collection?
Each of us has our undisputed champions, the discs that make the cut for every single round, while others patiently await their moment in the sun (or, the occasional downpour!).
